Questions? FAQs or Patient Information
What are the advantages of an Outpatient Imaging Center?
Hastings Imaging Center provides a patient experience that is both convenient and affordable. All parking is less than 100 feet from our front doors. The registration process is quick and easy. No more long waits and delays. The imaging equipment is top of the line.
Does Hastings Imaging Center have a dedicated Women’s Center?
Definitely so! Hastings Imaging Center has the only dedicated outpatient Breast Imaging Center between Lincoln and Denver. We were the first center to provide Digital Mammograms between Lincoln and Denver. We are the only center in Nebraska, west of Lincoln, to perform MRI-guided breast biopsies. At Hastings Imaging Center we provide the following exams to promote women’s health: Digital Mammograms, Breast Ultrasound, Breast MRI, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsy, MRI-guided Breast Biopsy, and Osteoporosis screening with DEXA.
Can I get exams at Hastings Imaging Center immediately?
All exams performed at Hastings Imaging Center need a healthcare provider's written order. This can be faxed or hand-carried by the patient. For Mammograms just call to schedule the exam and we will contact your physician’s office for an order. Our imaging exams are performed quickly and efficiently. This leaves plenty of room for flexibility. Most exams can be done right away!
How does Hastings Imaging Center get a report to my healthcare provider?
Hastings Imaging Center uses Powerscribe transcription software with voice recognition ability. When the radiologist interprets your exam and dictates into a microphone the computer automatically types the report! The radiologist then quickly checks the report for accuracy and signs it. The computer then faxes the report to your healthcare provider. Information within minutes!
Do radiology exams use much radiation?

No. Hastings Imaging Center follows the regulations put forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Health and Human Services of Nebraska. We strictly follow the ALARA principle, which stands for ‘As Low As Reasonably Achievable.’ This means that we use the lowest possible radiation dose to still achieve the highest possible quality exam. We are particularly careful with children and breast imaging. We have specific Pediatric Low Dose protocols. Our Digital Mammograms offer the lowest dose possible.
